Eileen Long-Farias, LPC received her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD in 1996. Prior to joining the Integrative Psychotherapy Institute in 2006, she worked for many years at an inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospital in Northern Virginia. Eileen was also a teen program director for the Foreign Service Youth Foundation for 10 years. As a former Foreign Service kid herself, she understands the difficulties and the joys that one experiences growing up overseas. She also has expertise in working with intercultural issues that children and families face either by being in a bicultural family or adjusting to a new culture. Eileen shares her time between the Institute and the Pentagon in Arlington, VA where she serves the civilian population.  Additionally, she provides mental health support and training for civilians being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Finding a skilled therapist who’s the right fit can be challenging. Eileen believes that for any of us to make progress and grow we need to be in an environment or relationship where there’s trust and we know we’re accepted. Eileen integrates a variety of effective models in to her work because when it comes to therapy “one size does not fit all”.

Eileen takes a holistic approach to a therapeutic partnership, understanding the strong connection between the brain, the mind, the spirit and the body

At the Institute, Eileen’s uses her expertise in helping teens and adults struggling with relationship issues, depression, anxiety, addiction, self-mutilation, traumatic reactions, ADD and personal growth. Eileen also leads and facilitates workshops and groups.
